Story
PianoTechnique.org is an educational platform for pianists. It mainly focuses on the work of Alan Fraser.
Alan is a well know and published author who has dedicated his life and research into shedding new light on the relationship between body organization and musicianship at the keyboard. Fraser is active as a teacher on both sides of the Atlantic, with branches of the Piano Somatics Institute in Canada, the US, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
PianoTechnique.org started in 2014 when Alan started recording all of his workshops. Jovan Haji-Djurich, a pianist himself but also a web developer, decided to build a service where these valuable videos could be accessed around the world.
At first, we only offered the main library, and the workshops library was added a bit later.
The main idea behind the service is that we take the videos from workshops and Jovan watches them and organizes them into series, publishing them in the main library. We have a wide variety of series. Sometimes we publish videos on technical issues, other times on injury (like dystonia), and sometimes even on performance.
