Two talented pianists come from opposite ends of Europe to the Gardos studio for work on the amazing Wanda Landowska Steinway. Working on this instrument allows them to discover new worlds of orchestrative possibilities at the piano, and a new repertoire of movement strategies to inflect these new sounds. The language of interpretation, of emotional communication is broadened and deepened, and the sense of playing with all of one's Being becomes palpable.
Repertoire includes solo pieces by Granados, Mel Bonis and Ravel, plus song accompaniments by the same composers as well as Mompou, and repertoire for violin and piano - sonatas by Ysaye, Debussy and Ravel. Intensive sessions devoted entirely to preparatory exercises for the hand were also held.
