Index/thumb Hand Anatomy

Hi all, I know my last post was not very specific so I have a more specific question to ask now. I've been noticing that playing difficult technical passages loudly has helped improve my overall technique. In particular I've noticed that when I strike a key with my index finger hard my thumb tightens and cannot play easily. However I'm continuing to do this and have noticed that if I try and activate my thumb while my index finger is pressed down hard I seems to strengthen my thumb and even the outer part of my fifth finger. This has helped improve double notes in particular. I'm just curious what people think and If others have experienced this? Also have an anatomy question. Sometimes I get the feeling that what the ideal technique would be when the bones of each finger including the areas that go through the palm are free enough so that one feels the indiviulality of each finger. Let me try to explain better. If I take my left hand and feel the area between the index and third fiber of my right hand it feels almost as if these bones are stuck together. I'm not sure if this is this same with everyone's anatomy. Anyway I don't think I explained all of this very well. But I've thought about this a lot and am excited to see if anyone can relate to what I'm feeling or experiencing. Asher

I like your question and also like the answers you have already conceived for yourself. You explained it very well! Please keep on pursuing this line of investigation; I am sure it will bear more fruit.
