What is a good book or resource on applying feldenkrais to singing? as an improvising pianist, i sing lots at the piano but tend to strain my throat. Also, like most musicians I would like to become a better singer anyway. feldenkrais seems the ideal method to sensing good tecnique. Much obliged, Tom

A good introduction to "Feldenkrais and singing" would be this: . When you enter "Feldenkrais singing" into Google, you get lots of links with info, books, etc., but I cannot comment upon the quality of it all. Paul

I recently bought "Singing with Your Whole Self" by Samuel H Nelson and Elizabeth Blades-Zeller and have found it very useful. None of the ATMs are singing lessons so to speak - they all aim at improving awareness and function of anything that can affect singing, so some are localised to parts of the vocal mechanism and other are more general, dealing with standing, sitting etc. They also go into various neurological links that are not necessarily apparent - e.g. the link between the hands and the tongue and how tension in one can affect tension in the other (I think Alan touches on this very briefly in All Thumbs with his explanation of the Homunculus). Edit: Thanks for that link, Paul, I haven't spotted it before.
