A Pianist
Yes.
The position is called, "Use your hands well." Most back pain comes from the hands being phelgmatic or tense and then the back going into spasm trying in vain to help the hands out. Get your hands potent, the back frees up.
But there is one more crucial element in the equation. The 'position' of your back is not a position. It is an action, a quality of movement. Your torso should be in constant, tiny movement. When your arm goes out to the side to shape a phrase, if the body knows how to follow it - subtly, with no histrionics - you will never be in pain. Also your musicianship will be transformed. See Charles Aschbrenner's website, Pulse Patterning for Pianists, for more on this.
I am very excited that Charles has finally, at my urging, made a video about Pulse Patterning, which is now in the final stages of editing. This will be a valuable resource and I recommend it to you all.
