Very perceptive, yes it is a quicker move, generally for sharp staccatos or quick passages in let's say a Mozart sonata - 16th running notes. Be careful that the 2nd metacarpal phalangeal joint still works. Don't empty out that important joint when doing the cat scratch... AFF
