Staccato

Hello, I have a major problem when it come to play staccato presttisimo-I understand that you should do that with the fingers but should there be an slight stabilization in the wrist?I feel the hand muscles contract when I try to do the "swiping" motion trying to play staccato very fast....can you help me? -is the "pluking" motion is a good idea in your opinion when trying to play staccato with octaves or chords? Thanks a lot

Stabilizing the wrist will kill you - it will inhibit any sort of speed developing. Don't stabilize anything! But yes, do use a light plucking motion. And please note how the word plucking is spelt, because the way you spelt it made me think of something else which is kind of gross! all best, AFF
