Having Troubling Hitting Two Keys At The Exact Same Time

Hello everyone, I've had this problem my whole life: I often have trouble hitting both keys at the same time when playing chords in succession with the same hand. For example, if I'm trying to play chords CE-DF-EG-DF-CE-DF... with right hand fingering 13-24-35-24-13, it seems really simple but I find it difficult to hit the keys at the exact same time if the tempo is fast. Maybe it's caused by our fingers not being the same length, but is there a trick to this? Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike, Does your hand collapse when you play those thirds? This also has to do a lot with finger independence. If you maintain your arch structure you should be able to get this going with some practice. Maybe try to play them on the top of the table while having your arch. The flat surface of the table will not collapse your hand. Let us know how it goes! Best, Jovan

First of all, ascertain which of the two notes sounds first. Then practice doing the reverse - play them not together on purpose, but with the other note sounding first. Note what changes in sensation you feel in your hand and elsewhere. Use this as the beginning of a basis for retraining your reflexes... AFF
