A Pianist
Somewhat recently I bought the complete guide to scales, chords and arpeggios. I have been working on memorizing all the major and minor scales, arpeggios in all 3 inversions, and the 1-4-5 chords in all 3 inversion. Any ideas on nice ways to incorporate all this. For example I like to play in the LH a 1-4-5 chord pattern in C and in the RH a 3 octave arpeggio (CEG). I start w/ a C maj chord and the arpeggio, when I reach the high C I take the 4 chord and then return to the 1 chord and the low C on the arpeggio. Then go back up with the arpeggio but when I take the high C this time the LH will grab a G chord. And so on...
Would any one like to share neat patters they may have come up with or perhaps knoweledge on ways of improvising w/ arpeggios. Which types go good together? Perhaps an Amin in the left hand while the right hand plays C maj? Should a 2nd inversion be played over a 3rd inversion? There are a few videos of people playing around with arpeggios on youtube which I really like, and would like to be able to do myself. I have very limited knowelege of theory though so any advise from some of you more knowelegable players would be nice. Thanks.
