I know that Alan has already posted links for Prats but I think he is good enough to warrant a second look. I think he is a perfect example of someone who has everything working for him, his whole body and being seem perfectly balanced on the bench... the music just flows out as a result. The first two links will take you to his interpretation of La Valse and the third is to this fantastic mazurka. I posted these since I have been working on glisandi lately and am hoping to imitate what he does to a certain degree. His glisandi have real shape and color. If anyone has ideas on how to go about practicing them I would be all ears. Oh... and check out some of the amazing "lesser know" pieces that he plays like this like gem

i feel this is one of the best versions ever recorded for this piexe. This pianist i think has something different from the others. Are there any more classical pieces recorded by him? What do you think Alan ?I think his technique is something that needs to be mentioned.I am speechless from the bravura of the difficult pieces. And again i think some of the tricks he does that the original version doesn't have for solo piano (mainly the glissandos, and other embelishments) are something worth noticing! Thanks to the original poster of this,i am amazed!

For me what is very perceptible by watching him, is this lightness of his arms.

There are a number of videos of him on youtube, mostly from his recitals with the Miami International Music Festival. As far as CD's, I have found very little. A real disappointment considering his incredible skills. Supposedly he has quite the repertoire as well. From what I have read he has had problems attaining a visa from the Cuban government and has spent the majority of his professional career there with occasional touring abroad. It seems he is getting around more these days so perhaps he will record more. I sure hope so.
