Hi Alvin, Alan is on the plane to Canada right now! As you know, Alan Fraser completed his book, The Craft of Piano Playing in 2003 and released the DVD in 2006. We are pleased to announce that he has now completed A Study Guide to The Craft of Piano Playing. This small 60-page book contains section summaries, lists of key themes, and sample exam questions that test the reader/viewer's knowledge in a practical way. The Study Guide links material from the book and DVD to empower the student's learning experience and make mastery of Alan Fraser's potent new approach to piano technique at once both congenial and effective. Here is the TOC: Preface 6 Table of Contents 10 Week 1: Introduction to Some Key Concepts 14 Week 2: Piano Technique and Movement 18 Week 3: Legato: The Physical Foundation of Piano Technique 22 Week 4: The Special Role of the Thumb 26 Week 5: Octaves and Chords 30 Week 6: The Role of the Arm 34 Week 7: Rotation 38 Week 8: Natural Finger Shape & Some Other Touch Strategies 40 Week 9: Musical Entasis – Rhythm 44 Week 10: Musical Entasis – Phrasing 48 Week 11: Musical Entasis – Orchestration; Thematic Review 52 Week 12: Maximal Articulation 56 Week 13: Emotional & Spiritual Content in Piano Playing 60 Answers to Questions (Selected) 64 Bibliography 66 Its a small book, i ll try to upload front and back cover here later!
