A Pianist
Dear Performer70,
This is a serious oversight, and we do apologize.
1) When we were developing the DVD structure it simply did not occur to us that English subtitles would be useful. Since then we have regretted the decision not to include them - we simply thought they would be superfluous, but it turns out we were mistaken.
2) I have asked my web manager to change the wording on our site, because this is misleading. Again, it is an inadvertent oversight on our part; we simply constructed the sentence that way for ease of grammar. But of course it is inaccurate.
3) We are investigating the possibility of making the English subtitles available in a separate file that could somehow be loaded onto the player and flashed on the screen as the DVD is played. We don't know if this is possible but feel it is worth finding out. If we do succeed in this we will send you that file with instructions.
4) At some future point in time we will release a new version of the DVD with subtitles in several additional languages (for instance, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian and Japanese). This version will definitely include the English titles as well. However, this project will not be completed in the near future but probably a year or two down the road. When this version released, you will receive a complimentary copy.
5) In the meantime, if you send me your email address (to ) I would be happy to send you a Word doc. version of the English subtitles for the entire film. Thus as a temporary solution, you would at least have a text at hand as a means of clarification of those moments when my Canadian English is incomprehensible to your Italian ears!
My sincere apologies for this screwup on our part!
Best wishes,
AFF
