HONING THE PIANISTIC SELF IMAGE: SKELETAL BASED PIANO TECHNIQUE When will this book be available?

I wish I knew! I keep trying to finish it but new material keeps arising from somewhere in my subconscious experience that seems to need to be put into this book. I am creating new ATM lessons around certain aspects of the hand on the keyboard, developing a more comprehensive understanding of the thumb, all sorts of exciting things are going on. But, much as I try to edit the book down and get it into final form, a point of completion continues to elude me. I really do aim to get it out by the fall, but at this point I make no promises... Thanks for asking! AFF

Thank you Alan for the answer.... don't make the book so heavy so that we can't lift it anymore!

I was going to make it about half the length of , but so far it is up to about the same length. I PROMISE not to let it balloon much more! AFF

I am creating new ATM lessons around certain aspects of the hand on the keyboard... Will the ATM lessons be in the book, on a CD accompanying the book, or available to be downloaded? I would prefer the second or third option. John Link

One thing at a time! Actually, thanks for the suggestion, I had planned on doing something along those lines but hadn't, simply because I haven't had the time or been organized enough to record anything. But you're right, there really should be option 2 or 3. So maybe your suggestion will help me get moving on it - although at the moment Book II is completely stalled as I am preparing a 2nd edition of Book I, and that is taking much more time and effort than I had planned... Best, AFF

You will probably be making discoveries and integrating and replacing and outdating etc things all your life. How could you possibly cram everything int books in this way? Books are too static. Why don't you do something like have a fee you pay to the site, and you can access a database of articles online or .. and maybe you can get a notification email every time something changes ?

Somehow I am a traditionalist I guess. Writing on this forum is good for me; it gives me practice in being super concise and clear. But a book is something that lives on your shelf, that you take down and consult, get to know over time. I think with this new edition of CRAFT I will bring the 'talkiness' down to tolerable levels as well as introducing a new theme or two. But I will leave the more Feldenkrais - whole body stuff for my second book. In any case a book is only as static as how you use it... Another thing I like about a book is that once it's done it's done. Yes I will continue to evolve, discover, discard, but I hope that in their final versions these books will offer a compendium of information that has lasting value - that was my aim in writing them. And yes, an online database that is continually evolving will be a wonderful thing. Oh, wait a minute, I am writing a post to that database right now... Do you want me to start charging you for this??? AFF
